Qamsar, Rose Garden (not all of us!)

Our 6thIranian Flickr gathering held in Qamsar, near Kashan in Isfahan province.
Here we are in a heaven smelling rose garden, at southern part of Qamsar.
Check the geotagged map. (The flickr map location name is incorrect. Qamsar is not located in Markazi province, it’s in Isfahan!)
Qamsar is a city in the Esfahan province, Iran, near the city of Kashan. Qamsar is the biggest center in the Middle East in production of rose water. The Kaaba in Mecca is annually washed by Qamsar rose water.

Rosewater or rose syrup (Persian: گلاب Golâb Turkish: Gül suyu) is the hydrosol portion of the distillate of rose petals. Due to the perfume industry’s immense demand for rose oil, rosewater has the status of an inexpensive by-product.

Rose water was first obtained by distilling roses in Persia (Iran). Rose perfumes are made from attar of roses or rose oil, which is a mixture of volatile essential oils obtained by steam-distilling the crushed petals of roses.
Rosewater is also used with Zamzam water in cleaning the Kaaba, a shrine located in Mecca. It is the the holiest place in Islam.
