Lemon-scented tea tree flower macro

Leptospermum petersonnii
Australian native (Qld, NSW.)
Small tree in my garden we planted about 3 years ago.
The common name tea-tree derives from the practice of early Australian settlers of soaking the leaves in boiling water to make a tea substitute. I use it too by adding a few leaves in my black or green tea for characteristic aroma.
Note Tea Tree oil is made from a different species (Melaleuca)

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/oom_piet/] Piet Grobler – yes, i suppose every country has its own "tea", particular if it is far from a real tea plantation. In Russia I like Иван-чай ‘Fireweed’(Epilobium angustifolium)
