Responders work to clean up oil with pom-poms and rakes from some of the worst-hit areas of Galveston Island in Texas April 3, 2014. Southeast winds pushed oil onto the shorelines facing the Houston Ship Channel as the tides carried oil out into the gulf. The spill occurred March 22, 2014, after a collision between a bulk carrier and a barge. More than 35,000 feet of boom have been deployed in response to the oil spill.
