Perfect set for anyone starting out with Essential Oils. These 6 oils pack a lot of power! What an awesome selection of six Essential Oils! I’ve been using EOs for almost a year, starting out with making my own kitchen cleaner, and I got a diffuser for my birthday last June. There are some oils in this Top 6 that I’m really familiar with and use almost daily, but two are brand new to me.(Eucalyptus oil and Lemongrass) I love reading about all the EO uses and learning more. I’ll start with Eucalyptus Oil.1) Eucalyptus Oil – Perfect to diffuse when you have a cold, sinus problems, allergies. It helps with healing and removing toxins, and a good expectorant. It has a cooling effect, diffuse with fevers.Homemade vapor rub: Mix coconut oil with drops of Eucalyptus and Peppermint oil and rub on the chestSinus help: Pour a cup of boiling water into a bowl and add 10 drops of Eucalyptus oil into it. Put a towel over your head and inhale the steam deeply for 5-10 minutesCleaning: Make an anti-odor spray mixing with lemongrass and tea tree oil. It’s anti-mold and anti-microbial, so great for natural cleaning (can mix water and white distilled vinegar)Hair nourishment: Mix with coconut oilHand cleaner: Removes greaseMuscle soreness: Can add to an Epsom salt bathHealing: apply for insect bites, cuts, scrapes2) Lemongrass: This is the first time I’ve smelled Lemongrass, and I love the fresh, lemony scent. It pairs well with lavender, or my NEW favorite is with Sweet orange and peppermint for a daytime, invigorating diffuser blend!Bug repellent: I just learned that it not only serves as a deodorizer and air freshener, it repels mosquitoes, ants and fleas! (Can put drops in a spray bottle and spray on your pets)(This smells WAY better than the Cintronella Oil I use to repel bugs!)Diffusing: Calms, relieves stress and anxiety and insomnia (great for a night diffusing blend with lavender!)Headache relief: Dab on the temple (I just learned this!)Skincare: Anti-fungal, antispetic, anti-inflammatory, kills bacteria – apply to cuts and scrapesPromotes good hair and scalp health: Add to skincare products, lotion, shampooReduce muscle pain – add to a foot bath3) Tea Tree Oil – This is VERY medicinal smelling so a little goes a long way!!! I have been using this oil for a long time to help with acne. It’s a great antiseptic for cuts, insect bites, calming a sunburn and it kills bacteria too!I put drops of tea tree oil in white vinegar and water for cleaning (in a spray bottle) and add sweet orange and lavender to make it smell nice.Kills head lice!! My son got lice at a sleepover four months ago, and I researched a natural remedy. I’m so thankful I was warned by my mom friend that she found lice on her son’s head two days after my son was over. This gave me time to get rid of the little egg sacks/nits I saw in my son’s hair!!! (I read that it takes 6 days to hatch from eggs, so I had 4 days to go on the offensive). He’s 8 years old and was a good sport about wearing a shower cap over his head for a few hours while his head soaked in coconut oil and tea tree oil mixture). I clipped a towel around his shoulders and he watched TV and played a new app I bought him while I let the oil work. I rinsed his hair with white vinegar and this managed to soften up the gluey lice egg sacks, so they could be easily combed and picked out. I combed twice a day for 5 days and we NEVER had the lice hatch. Crisis averted! I also washed ALL THE THINGS, and put his stuffed animals in doubled up garbage bags with air squished out for 5 days (I read that after 3 days, lice cannot live without a host) OK, that was a long tangent about lice, but tea tree oil is known for lice prevention and treatment. My teacher friend sprays it in her daughter’s hair diluted with water, and combs it through her hair and braids it tight before school. She also recommends putting Tea Tree Oil in kids shampoos (and so do my hairdresser friends!) Her 4th grader has never had lice, even when outbreaks have happened throughout the years in class. Teachers and hairdressers know A LOT about lice prevention!:)4) Lavender – I LOVE this scent!! It’s my go-to oil for my diffuser. I add in sweet orange and peppermint for daytime use and diffuse it in my kitchen. It’s lovely! It reduces anxiety and stress. At night, I diffuse to promote good sleep and relaxation.Healing – heals wounds, burns and is a great anti-oxidant for the skin!5) Sweet Orange – My favorite scent for cleaning! It kills bacteria (studies show it kills E.Coli!) I put a few drops in water for a fruit and veggie wash! Use sweet orange to clean counters and cutting boards (I have a spray bottle with white vinegar and distilled water and sweet orange). I love how this oil smells too! I even put drops…
